A soft buffalo pâté in a 400g roll, with no additives or preservatives in it. Single source protein, high in protein, low in fat, and suitable for puppies from eight weeks old.

Buffalo is the part worth knowing about. It is a red meat with a proper savoury flavour, and it is not one most dogs meet very often, so it tends to land as something a bit special. That makes it a useful reward for the moments when you need your dog's full attention. It is also a sensible place to look if beef is off the menu, since buffalo is a different animal altogether, and a good option for anyone keeping their dog on one protein at a time.

The roll is what makes it so easy to live with. Spread it on a lick mat, cut it into cubes for training, grate it over dinner, or slice it and hand it over as it comes. One block does jobs that usually take three or four different packets, and because it holds its shape you can cut it as small as you like. For lick mat work in particular it does what a spoonful of peanut butter or yoghurt is usually asked to do, only it is meat, and it is made for dogs.

It suits most dogs, from puppies at eight weeks through to older dogs who have gone a bit fussy and need their dinner making more interesting. The texture is soft, so it works for small mouths and for dogs whose teeth are not what they were. It is a treat rather than a meal, so it sits alongside whatever your dog is already eating.

Ingredients are buffalo at 94%, with sweet potato, seaweed, and vitamins and minerals making up the rest. Grain and gluten free. Keep the roll somewhere cool and dry, and once it is open it lives in the fridge and wants using within five days.

It freezes well, which is what we would suggest if you have a smaller dog and five days is more than you would get through. Cut the roll into portions, bag them up separately and put them in the freezer, then take one out and defrost it when you next need treats for training. You get the whole roll used and nothing goes to waste.

Not sure what would suit your dog, or how to get started with enrichment? Just ask. It is the sort of thing we talk through every day and we are always happy to help.

Delivered across the UK, and on the shelf in our Dunfermline shop.
