The Hurtta Rover Collar is a tougher, weatherproof collar built for medium and large dogs. It's made for the moments a collar does the job better than a harness: quick trips out to the yard, walks with a calm, older dog, a puppy still getting the hang of the lead, or a dog that's worked out how to wriggle free of a harness.
The shell's a durable recycled polyester with a waterproof membrane underneath, so it shrugs off wet grass and muddy paths instead of soaking straight through to the padding. That padding's extended and finished with a soft knit lining, comfortable even with daily wear, and there's a reflective strip built in to help your dog stand out once the light starts to go.
It's built for calm, controlled moments rather than for holding a dog back, so if yours still pulls hard on the lead, it's worth using this alongside a properly fitted harness rather than in place of one.
The buckle's a quick-snap fastening with a safety catch that stops it opening all the way by accident, and the D-loop's aluminium rather than a cheaper alloy, sturdy enough for a tag that's on there day in, day out.
