Here are tips for storing your dog’s winter gear:
Storing Dog Coats
- Clean and fully dry before storing (click here forwashing instructions). Particles left on clothing can stain and stink while in storage, and also more likely to attract insects.
- Secure all buckles and zippers.
- Fold garments from heaviest to lightest. Loosely folded clothes can trap air.
- Store in an air-tight container or storage bag to prevent dust from accumulating. Good storage containers include plastic bins, vacuum-seal bags, or even an old suitcase.
- If moths and insects are an issue, store with cedar hangers or blocks.
- Store in a clean, cool, dark, and dry place to prevent fading and mildew.
Storing Dog Boots
- Brush off loose dirt and dust with a dry cloth.
